- School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences: Research Assistant (The University of Edinburgh)
Dr Michela Massimi is seeking to appoint a
Research Assistant for 12 hours per week over three years, to help her run the
activities of a Leverhulme Trust-funded international network on the theme of
"Kant and the Laws of Nature - Lessons from the Physical and Life Sciences of
the Eighteenth Century". Dr Massimi is the PI of the network, which will include
eight institutions nationally and internationally (in the UK, Germany and US)
and whose activities will span over a three-year period. For details of the

The successful applicant will act as a "Network
Facilitator" on the grant and will be required to take a leading role in
organising and running all the activities of the international network
(workshops, conference, seminars and public lectures), to actively contribute to
the research outcomes of the network itself via publications and conference
papers as appropriate, and is expected to manage the day-to-day project
objectives, under the line-management of Dr Massimi.
The appointee will have to have a good first
degree in Philosophy or related subject, and hold a PhD (PhD candidates, who
have submitted their thesis by 1 November 2012, are eligible to apply). The
appointee will have excellent administrative and organisational skills,
especially for team working, and a good research profile in the relevant
research areas (i.e. Kant and/or history and philosophy of science).

Salary Scale: £30,122 - £35,935
